The GE Fanuc IC600CB537 control module is a communications control module which is a Type 2 module. It is manufactured as part of the GE Series Six PLC product line which comprises 2 communications ports, 4 LED indicator lights, and 2 switches for the control, connection, and status of the module. The main purpose of the IC600CB537 communication control module is to provide a serial interface between the GE Fanuc Series Six CPU and any other intelligent devices that can be used to initiate communication, depending on the required Type 2 and Type 3 communication control module protocols and the required electrical interface. The Series Six CCM2, CCM3, or input and output CCM are some of the intelligent devices that can support this interfacing. Other devices that can be interfaced include the host computer or a microprocessor based device, a color graphics terminal, and a process control system.
The GE Fanuc Series Six Plus PLCs and PLC components, including the IC600CB537 communication control module, also feature expanded microcodes that help to increase the total number of user addressable input and output points. This feature of the IC600CB537 module allows for the addressing of channeled input and output points with the set of expanded instructions that are made for GE Series Six. These input and output points are accessible by both communication control module as well as the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) protocol for the Type 3 and Type 2 modules. The IC600CB537 communication control module supports the addressing of the auxiliary input and output override table. Additionally, this module features an expanded user memory reference that can address a user logic memory of up to 64K.
