The IC600LX612 memory module is a 4k logic and 8k register memory module that is manufactured by GE Fanuc. The register memory module is used with the central processing unit or CPU in the PLC. It provides 16-bit words for the register memory data. The module is battery-backed. This memory can be used with different functional levels, including the basic, extended, or advanced levels. The memory module comprises a 2-tier circuit board with CMOS memory on the upper tier and the motherboard and control circuitry on the bottom tier. The module has LED indicators marked as the “Parity” and “Battery” LEDs. The indicators are visible on the faceplate of the module. The “Parity” LED turns off when the register memory experiences a parity error, and the “Battery” LED turns on when the onboard lithium battery is operational.
The battery-backed IC600LX612 memory module retains the register memory when there is an unwanted power failure or shutdown. It is powered with a 5 Volts DC power supply and it has a current rating of 800 milliamps. The power is supplied by the CPU power supply. The operating temperature range is set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius while the storage temperature range is between 0 and 70 degrees Celsius. The IC600LX612 memory module is portable and it has a compact size. The circuit board of the module has dimensions of 8.15 x 11 inches and the faceplate is 12.46 x 1.175 inches. This combined memory module is generally installed to the immediate left of the arithmetic control module of the CPU rack. The 2-pin lithium battery connector is used for the connections. Any parity errors should be cleared during the initial power-up of the memory module.
