The IC600YB831 High-Density Input Module belongs to the GE Fanuc Series Six line of products. It comes with the status indicators but without a faceplate. It can be installed in any slot of an I/O rack in a Model 60 CPU or Series Six CPU. The IC600YB831 High-Density Input Module offers an optically isolated interface between the backplane I/O bus and input devices. It provides 32 inputs in 4 groups which have 8 inputs each. It offers 3 user-selectable input modes to measure the signals in the standard logic circuitry as well as other DC levels. This module is supplied only with the circuit board, not the faceplate. The circuit board and the faceplate can be ordered together as a separate module. It uses +5 Volts DC voltage and 200 milliamps of current to operate, and this power is supplied by the I/O rack.
The IC600YB831 High-Density Input Module has 50 microseconds of filter-out response time and 10 milliseconds of filter-in response time. Its fast response time makes it well-suited for time-sensitive applications. It also offers filtering facilities for higher noise environments. The circuit board of the module features 3 jumpers, 2 LED indicators, a selectable filter DIP switch, and an open switch to perform various functions. The circuitry jumpers are useful when selecting the sink/source input type, the inverted or non-inverted features, and the TTL or volts inputs. The dimensions of the circuit board are 8.15 x 11 inches. The IC600YB831 High-Density Input Module has 15,000 Ohms of input impedance. It can be used in industrial applications for interfacing a variety of devices to the CPU such as instruments with TTL outputs, current sourcing/sinking DC devices, and compact I/O systems.
