The IC660BRD021 I/O block is a 24/48 Volts DC block manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is a DC sink block and it is mainly used for redundant output configuration. This block has 16 circuits located on the front. The sink block is used with electromechanical sensors.  This Genius I/O block can be mounted up to 7500 feet away from the PLC. The sink block has a processing time of 1.7 milliseconds. It can be configured as an input, output, or a tristate input block. It can be connected directly to a PLC without using any extra components and logic states. The IC660BRD021 I/O block is designed with configurable features that include the switching module control, output power, selectable input filter time, and output test capability features. The advanced diagnostics features in the sink module help to detect issues during installation and operation. It also offers electronic circuit protection that shuts off if the surge current exceeds 15 Amps for more than 10 milliseconds.


The GE IC660BRD021 I/O block has a port that can connect handheld monitors or programmer terminals. The block to block isolation rating in the block is 1500 Volts. The IC660BRD021 I/O block dissipates 68.8 Watts of energy as heat under normal working conditions. The LEDs on the front are the “Unit OK” LED and the embedded I/O status LEDs for each of the I/O points. The power supply drop out time for the block is 10 milliseconds. The IC660BRD021 I/O block has an output current rating of 2 Amps per circuit and it has a maximum inrush current rating of 10 Amps for a time period of 10 milliseconds. The operating temperature should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius with 5 to 95% relative humidity.

 The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660BRD021K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
