The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly is made for the Genius I/O RTD (Resistive Temperature Detector) input block. This electronic assembly belongs to the GE Fanuc Genius I/O block system. The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly and its corresponding terminal assembly (the IC660TBA021) make up the whole Genius RTD input block. The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly can be ordered as a complete factory-assembled module (comprising the terminal assembly and the electronic assembly unit assembled together) or it can also be ordered separately from the terminal assembly. The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly contains the block’s microprocessor and it performs all the block's communication, computation, data storage, advanced diagnostics, and other related functions.


The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly comes with a 24/48 Volts DC rated Resistive Temperature Detectors (RTDs) block. The block has 6 input circuits arranged in 3 isolated groups of 2 circuits each with 300 Volts of isolation between each group. Each input circuit can be used with platinum, nickel, or copper RTDs and it is linearized with respect to the type of RTD that is used. Signals are transmitted to the CPU in engineering units of tenths of degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, Ohms, or as standard counts. The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly is software-configurable and the configurable features include the alarm threshold setting, RTD resistance, linearization, and input filter time settings. The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly is factory-calibrated and requires no additional field calibration. It also offers automatic diagnostics that can spot installation and runtime errors. The IC660EBA021 electronic assembly comes with an open design, and it can be mounted on the factory floor. It offers fast and convenient field-side wiring (via the terminal assembly), and it can be removed and replaced without reconfiguring the terminal wiring.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660EBA021K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
