Technical Information

The Genius I/O IC660EBA101 block is an RTD input block that is made by the GE Fanuc. It is manufactured as a member of the GE Genius I/O product line and it is intended for monitoring the temperature inputs from the Resistive Temperature Detectors (RTDs) in a system. There are 2 RTD blocks in the system that are identical except for their power supply, and they have 24/48 Volts DC and 15/125 Volts DC voltage ratings. The GE Fanuc IC660EBA101 RTD block’s input clock comes with 6 input circuits arranged in 3 different groups, each with 2 circuits. The block has a group to group isolation rating of 300 Volts. Each input of this block is compatible and usable with the copper, nickel, or platinum RTDs. Also, the input data for every circuit is linearized based on the RTD type that is selected. The input data is conveyed to the CPU in engineering units of tenths of ohms, tenths of degrees Celsius, or in counts. 

 

Other notable configurable features of the GE Fanuc IC660EBA101 input block include the RTD resistance, the alarm threshold, the input filter time, and the linearization. The IC660EBA101 RTD input block, like other input modules in the same series, is factory calibrated and it requires no subsequent recalibration. It features automatic diagnostics that pinpoint the cost of installation as well as run-time errors. These errors that the diagnostics detect may include internal faults, wiring errors, shorted inputs, high and low input alarms, and overrange/underrange input indication. The fault reporting of the IC660EBA101 input block can either be disabled or enabled on a circuit by circuit basis. This module has an approximate weight of 4 pounds, a maximum heat dissipation rating of 7 Watts, and size measurements of 8.83 x 3.34 x 3.91 inches.

 The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660EBA101K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
