Technical Information

The Genius I/O IC660EBA106 electronic assembly block is a current-source analog output block manufactured as a member of the Genius I/O product family. It is manufactured by the GE Fanuc to interface the controller to the devices, providing analog signals of between 4 and 20 milliamps. There are 2 versions of this current-source input block, including the 24/48 Volts DC version and the 115 Volts AC/125 Volts DC version which are identical except for the power supply. The IC660EBA106 block features six 4 to 20 milliamps rated inputs, with each input providing a current loop power supply of 24 Volts and operating separately from the other circuits in the block. It also has BSM circuitry, which is electrically common to input 1 and which is isolated from other inputs. Among the main features of this block are isolated channels, software configuration support, and advanced diagnostics.

 

All the IC660EBA106 block circuits support independent linear scaling values selection. The values can be applied when converting the internal values to the engineering units that are ideal for application. This block features diagnostics such as internal fault reporting, open-wire detection, low/high alarm reporting, and under-range/over-range detection. It also comes with a devoted digital output that drives the Bus Switching Module (BSM). The current source output blocks, including the IC660EBA106 block, require a Phase B Hand-Held Monitor (HHM) for configuration purposes. These blocks are also compatible with the IC697 series PLCs, IC600 series PLCs, and IC550 series PLCs. When the BSM is attached directly to the IC660EBA106 current-source output block, it must be the BSM version that runs on a 24/48 Volts DC power supply.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660EBA106K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
