Technical Information

The IC660EBD020 electronic assembly block is a 16-circuit source/sink input and output block. It is an intelligent and configurable module manufactured by GE Fanuc to interface to several discrete DC actuators and sensors. The IC660EBD020 block is part of the Genius I/O product family and it comes in 2 versions that can provide current to the field output devices. One of the DC 16-circuit source block versions is the 24/48 Volts DC type which is mainly for use with the 3-wire electromechanical and solid-state sensors. The other version is the 24 Volts DC type which is made for use with the 2-wire and 3-wire electromechanical and solid-state sensors. Additionally, these 2 DC 16-circuit sink blocks can both receive current from the field output devices. These 2 blocks are identical except for their voltage ratings.


Like most Genius I/O blocks, the IC660EBD020 block weighs approximately 1.8 kilograms and it measures 8.83 x 3.56 x 4.42 inches. Additionally, it features 1500 Volts of voltage block isolation and it has individual load side LEDs on each circuit. Other properties of this block include a selectable input filter time of 5 to 100 milliseconds and field switch, over-temperature, and open-wire input diagnostics. The required DC power current rating for the IC660EBD020 block and other Genius I/O blocks is 150 milliamps typical and 300 milliamps at maximum. The block has a power supply dropout time of 10 milliseconds and 68.8 Watts heat dissipation with 16 outputs rated for 2 Amps of current. 

 The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660EBD020K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
