Technical Information

The IC660ELB904 network adapter board is a Genius I/O series interface board manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is a microprocessor-based printed circuit board that belongs to the IC660 family of I/O devices. It provides an I/O scanning and communication interface for the I/O system. The weight of the module is approximately 1.36 kilograms. It can be mounted on the carrier terminal blocks within the I/O station. It has the responsibility to transfer data between the I/O devices and the controller. It also has intelligent processing capabilities such as selectable I/O defaults, analog scaling, and range selection as well as fault reporting. The IC660ELB904 network adapter board is capable of performing diagnostic checks on the module and the I/O station.                  


The IC660ELB904 network interface board is compatible with a variety of Genius I/O series modules such as I/O devices bus controllers, electronic and terminal assemblies, and hand-held monitors. It allows for communication between Genius products while providing data transmission facilities and communication ports. This module has auto-configuration facilities and configuration facilities in its configurator software package. However, the module and its default configurations are also suitable to use with a range of applications. The most important feature of the module is its scaling facility that can be used to convert the negative values to the low end of the I/O range.  The IC660ELB904 network interface board has the flexibility to connect with different types of I/O modules and networks. It also meets UL and CE requirements to maintain industry standards. Any computer or PLC which can control Genius Bus devices can be used as the system host.

 The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660ELB904K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
