The GE Fanuc IC660ELB905 interface is a Network Interface Unit or NIU manufactured by GE Intelligent Platforms/GE Fanuc. This device belongs to the GE Genius I/O product line and it is specially designed for use with the Genius LAN interface. This NIU is compatible with many devices in the Genius I/O series, including the IC660HHM501 hand-held monitor as well as the HMM500 and HHM501, which are required to help change the configuration of the baud rate or configure the entire block for a redundancy setup. The IC660ELB905 NIU is also compatible for use with any bus controller, QBIM, or PCIM from the GE Fanuc Genius I/O series. This unit is compatible with I/O blocks which are backward compatible with the previous versions of the block, for instance, the IC660CBS100, BBS101, and BBS101 blocks. These I/O blocks can also serve as spare parts for the previous versions, but their terminal assemblies are not backward-compatible.
Some of the specifications of the IC660ELB905 Network Interface Unit include a capacity of 8 modules per rack with a total capacity of 64 modules per unit. It can also handle 128 bytes of network input per bus scan, 128 bytes of network output per bus scan, 1024 points of discrete input memory, and 104 points of output memory. It has a power consumption rating of 5 Volts at 250 milliamps of current or of 3.3 Volts at 10 milliamps of current. The IC660ELB905 Network Interface Unit has a serial bus address of 0 to 31, an analog input memory of 64 channels, and analog output memory of 64 channels. This network interface unit is well-matched with the GE Series 90-30 PLCs, Series 90-70 PLCs, and Series 6 PLCs.
The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660ELB905K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
