Technical Information

The IC660TBA021 base is a terminal assembly base which forms the base of the complete GE Fanuc IC660BBA021 I/O block. The IC660BBA021 terminal base is an RTD input block which receives temperature values from RTDs (resistive temperature detectors). The IC660BBA021 terminal base is a 24/48 Volts DC RTD I/O block. A total of 6 RTD input circuits are available on the I/O block. These inputs are split into 3 independent groups of 2 inputs circuits each. Three different types of RTDs can be used with the module: nickel, copper, or platinum. The input from the RTDs is linearized, and the linearization depends on the type of RTD. The temperature inputs to the module are reported to the system CPU in engineering units of tenths of degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit, and in tenths of ohms or counts.


Additional configurable features are also available on the IC660BBA021 terminal base assembly including the RTD resistance, input filter time, and the alphatype feature. The factory-calibrated IC660BBA021 terminal base does not require field calibration. Automatic diagnostics available on the module can report multiple faults including input shorts, external faults, wiring errors, open wires, and high/low input alarms. The IC660BBA021 terminal base is compatible with QBIM and PCIM modules. For Series 90-70 PLCs, the CPU needs to be release 1 or later and the bus controller needs to be release 1 or later. For Series Six PLCs, the CPU needs to be revision 105 or later. For series Six Plus PLCs, the CPU needs to be revision 110 or later. For series Five PLCs, the CPU needs to be revision 3.0 or later.

 The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660TBA021K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
