The IC660TBD024 Terminal Assembly is a screw-type Genius I/O terminal assembly module from GE Fanuc. It has a compact and rugged design. It is located between the IC660EBD024 Electronics Assembly and the IC660BBD024 I/O Block in the Genius I/O system. It is also known as the generic wiring base of the I/O module. This terminal assembly is the wiring interface between the I/O block and field devices. Its terminals are electrically connected together internally. The conductors and wires can be easily inserted into the terminal through the sloped entrance plane and the appropriately sized entrance holes. The IC660TBD024 Terminal Assembly makes the wiring and installation process of an I/O system clear and safe. 


The IC660TBD024 Terminal Assembly weighs 2 pounds. It has an EEPROM unit to store the configuration data including the device number, reference address, baud rate, and details of the BSM controller. It is not necessary to reconfigure the module when the electronics assembly is removed or replaced. It hosts all of the field wiring and power connections. The I/O block bus can be directly connected to this terminal assembly. The IC660TBD024 Terminal Assembly is compatible with the GE IC660BBD024 I/O Block and IC660EBD024 Electronics Assembly. The source type block’s outputs must be connected to the negative side of the power supply and the inputs can be connected to the positive side. It can assure the data integrity of the critical processes during replacement or renewal. This terminal assembly can be used to perform efficient field-wiring while ensuring safety and efficiency.  

Technical Information

The IC660TBD024 block is a DC sink I/O terminal block. It is designed with 32 circuits and it has a voltage rating of 5, 12, or 24 Volts DC. The main function of the terminal block is to supply current to field output devices. The terminal block is compatible with 5 Volts of power and it is TTL compatible. It can be used to interface with both 2-wire and 3-wire proximity switches. The terminal has a height of 8.83 inches, a width of 3.56 inches, and a depth of 4.42 inches. The LED indicators show the “Unit OK” and “I/O enabled” status of the terminal block and all of its I/O. An 850 Volts block to block isolation voltage is present between the circuits. The IC660TBD024 terminal block has a 10% ripple with 12/24 Volts, and a 1% ripple with 5 Volts. The terminal has different power supply dropout times of 4 milliseconds with 12 Volts and 20 milliseconds with 24 Volts. Different selectable input filter times from 1 to 100 milliseconds are available.


The maximum output current for the IC660TBD024 terminal block is 0.5 Amps per circuit for a steady state condition. With a maximum inrush current from 4 to 10 milliseconds, the terminal assembly has a block output current of 16 Amps. The IC660TBD024 terminal block has diagnostics features that can detect different conditions like switch fault conditions and open wire conditions. The terminal block can be used as an input block, output block, or a combination block. If it is configured as an input block, all the circuits must be inputs with 32 input references and no output references. The situation is similar for output configuration. For a combination block, the terminal can have a mix of input and output circuits with input and output references.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660TBD024K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
