The GE Fanuc IC660TSD020 Genius I/O Block Terminal Assembly has been specifically designed and manufactured to be a low-cost wiring connection solution for a wide array of industrial automation devices. It has 16 independent, screw-type terminal connection points designed for the connection of wiring from external sensors, actuators, solenoid valves, relays, limit switches, level switches, and pressure switches. The GE Fanuc IC660TSD020 Genius I/O Block Terminal Assembly uses an operating voltage range between 24 and 48 Volts DC, which is drawn from the PLC backplane and which is mainly used for  the outputs connected to it, and for delivering a maximum current of 2 Amps per connection point. A handheld configuration tool can be connected by using the port near the upper side of the module for configuration and programming purposes.
 

The GE Fanuc IC660TSD020 Genius I/O Block Terminal Assembly can be attached directly to an available slot in the Genius I/O PLC rack, or it can be mounted by using a DIN rail attached to the wall of the panel. Its compact dimensions of 64 millimeters x 124 millimeters x 102 millimeters and its low weight of 740 grams make it a very convenient choice for crowded panels. The operating temperature range of the GE Fanuc IC660TSD020 Genius I/O Block Terminal Assembly should remain between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) at all times because hotter or colder environments may cause a reduction in the device’s lifespan. Only authorized personnel should be allowed to perform maintenance and upgrades on this device.

Technical Information

The IC660TSD020 module is a 16-circuit enabled I/O module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It comes with 2 source blocks that power the field output devices. The circuit has a voltage rating of 24/48 Volts DC. The 16 individual circuits of the module are equipped with individual LEDs that illuminate when a connection is made to that specific circuit. The module is built with configurable features with output pulse test capability and the selectable input filter time is between 10 and 100 milliseconds. The diagnostics feature of the module runs during the operation and starting up of the module and it can detect runtime errors. The IC660TSD020 module has a heat dissipation rating of 68.8 Watts. The block to block isolation is 1500 Volts. The output diagnostics of the module can detect short circuit, overload, no load, failed switch and over temperature conditions. The temperature of the installation environment should be between 0 and 60 degrees celsius.

 

A built-in thermal sensor is present in the IC660TSD020 module that turns off the circuit when it detects an excessive temperature. The overload shutdown feature protects the output load, the field wiring, and the switching devices if the load exceeds 2.8 Amps for a time period of 100 milliseconds. The IC660TSD020 module is equipped with a BSM controller that is connected to the bus switching module. The front side of the module comes with a programmer controller part that helps to connect the handheld terminal and the other human-machine interface module to the I/O module. The I/O module is certified with the cULus and CE standards.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660TSD020K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
