The IC754VBB06MTD by GE Platforms is a 6” QuickPanel View all-in-one microcomputer designed for flexibility. The IC754VBB06MTD delivers a high-resolution operator interface with a wide range of I/O options. The IC754VBB06MTD can be connected to most industrial equipment due to a variety of standard ports and expansion busses.
Connection of the IC754VBB06MTD is required for the user to connect a DC power supply using the supplied quick-connect plug. Depending on the application, connection and configuration of the communication ports may be necessary. The IC754VBB06MTD has an integrated flat-panel monochrome display. The monochrome display is 5.7” diagonally with a resolution of 320x240 pixels with 256 shades of gray. Every model is equipped with a backlight timer and the backlight life can be prolonged by turning it off automatically.
The IC754VBB06MTD has one serial data communication port identified as COM1.The COM1 port is a bidirectional data channel that supports EIA232C and EIA485 electrical standards. The COM1 port configured as a networking connection in dial-up remote or a direct connection from a user-formed application utility. If a network supporting a TCP/IP protocol, there can be a connection configured to reside on the network. There is a DB25S connector mounted on the bottom enclosure to offer some standard signals. When using COM1 in EIA-485 two-wire mode, supplementary control of the port is required. This ensures that the transmitter is turned off when necessary to allow other connected stations to transmit and evade collisions of transmissions. The possibility of collision in two-wire mode is probable because the transmitters are tied together.
