Technical Information

The GE Fanuc ST-3802 thermocouple module is a 2-channel analog thermocouple input module for the RSTi distributed I/O system. The ST-3802 thermocouple input module provides 2 single-ended inputs that are capable of receiving Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature data and transmitting this 16-bit (2’s compliment) data to a controller. This module can be easily integrated into the GE intelligent platform via the Windows-based Proficy Machine Edition software, which allows the users to easily select the I/O module and configured operation parameters. The ST-3802 thermocouple module is easy to mount on a DIN rail with the slide and lock mechanism, which is a design that allows for the easy mounting of the module on a DIN rail.

 

The ST-3802 thermocouple input module utilizes the system’s 24 Volts DC power for operation, and it has a maximum backplane power draw of 70 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The ST-3802 input module has a photo-coupler I/O to logic isolation, and it supports 2-wire or 3-wire connections. The ST-3802 input module has 2 single-ended and non-isolated input channels that accept both thermocouple and millivolt inputs such as Type K, J, T, B, R, S, E, N, L, U, C, and, D thermocouple inputs, and 10uV/Bit, 1uV/Bit, and 2uV/Bit millivolt inputs. This module has 200 milliseconds of rated conversion time for all the input channels, and an input resolution of +/-0.1 degree Celsius per 10 milliOhms (mΩ). The ST-3802 input module has built-in diagnostics that ensures channel integrity, and it does not require extra field calibration. It has a slim module error range of +/-0.3% full scale in an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
