The GE Fanuc ST-4214 analog output module is a 4-channel, 12-bit analog output module designed for the high-performance and low-cost GE RSTi I/O system. This module belongs to the analog I/O module family of the RSTi distributed I/O system that is designed for high performance, increased uptime, and low-cost I/O solutions. The ST-4214 analog output module, like every RSTi I/O module, is configured and addressed by using the Windows-based Proficy Machine Edition configuration software. On the front panel of this module is an LED light that shows the RSTi bus status and a color-coded label for easy device identification. The ST-4214 analog output module has a removable type of terminal block with spring clamp terminals for easy wiring.
The ST-4214 analog output module uses a 24 Volts DC user-supplied power source for output control. It has an acceptable operating output voltage range that is between 18 and 28.8 Volts DC and a maximum current rating of 60 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. This module has a recommended cable size of 2 millimeters square for module wiring, and it also offers photo-coupler type isolation between the I/O and control logic. The ST-4214 output module has 4 single-ended output channels that are individually isolated and with individual commons. Each output point has an output range of 12 bits (3.9 milliamps per bit) and an output current range of 4 to 20 milliamps. The output data is received in a 16-bit (2’s compliment) format from a controller, and this module has a total conversion time of 4 milliseconds. The ST-4214 analog output module has a maximum load resistance of 500 Ohms per channel and an overall module error range of +/-0.3% full scale at 60 degrees Celsius.
