The IC694ALG232 is an Advanced Diagnostics 16-Channel Input Analog Voltage Module manufactured by General Electric. Each channel can be arranged for both input stages. The module can be connected in any I/O slot that contains a serial connector in the RX3i system.
This PACSystems RX3i module provides 16 single-ended or eight differential input channels. Channels can be configured for input range 0 to 10 V (unipolar) or default -10 to +10 V (bipolar). High and low alarm limits can also be configured for the two ranges.
The IC694ALG232 is fully configurable using software, there are no module jumpers to set, and it offers configurable scaling and offsets per 16 channels.
Alarm detection settings/reporting include high, low, high-high, and low-low. Other features are module fault reporting, the ability to support diagnostic point fault contacts in the logic program, and firmware upgrades among others. The IC694ALG232 module also supports hot insertion/removal.
If the module is located in an RX3i Universal Backplane, an external source of isolated +24 VDC is necessary to provide power. The external source must be connected using the TB1 connector on the backplane’s left side. If the module is instead located in an Expansion Backplane, the backplane’s power supply already provides the Isolated +24 VDC.
The IC694ALG232 comes equipped with a MODULE OK LED that displays status info. An ON status is OK and indicates that the module is properly configured. An OFF status means no backplane power is recognized or the watchdog timer is timed out. Continuous rapid blinking suggests that the CPU is not transmitting configuration data. Slow blinking by the LED followed by OFF tells the user that there is a failed power-up diagnostics issue or that a code execution error is noted. The Module P/S LED confirms that the internally-generated +5 VDC supply is at or above the required designated level.
