IC694APU300 is a Fanuc GE PLC output model built for high speed and processing of rapid signals of frequencies of up to 1 Mhz. The module intuitively detects inputs and processes the input’s information count without having to communicate with a CPU (Central Processing Unit). The output module can be configured to accommodate 1 complex counter, 2 identical and independent complex counters, as well as 4 identical simple counters. The module is ideal for control applications such as measurement of velocity, process control, turbine flowmeter, and meter proving.
For input memory, the High-speed counter uses 16 words, and this is inclusive of 16 bits of discrete input memory and 15 words of analog input memory. Furthermore, the high-speed counter makes use of 16 bits of discrete output memory which get transferred once for every sweep. It’s worth mentioning that there are no DIP switches on the module.
The IC694APU300 module provides two modes of operation in an RX3i system: Classic and Enhanced.
For enhanced mode, the data status of the module delivers 32 bits of diagnostic information to the CPU about module operation. Whereas in the classic mode, module Status data delivers 16 bits of diagnostic information to the CPU about module operation.
It’s worth noting that high-speed counters: IC693APU300-MA and IC694APU300-CA do not support hand held programmer configuration. LED indicators responsible for indicating the module’s operating status as well as status of other configuration parameters.
IC694APU300 output module is comprised of 4 positive logic outputs and 12 positive logic inputs delivering input voltage range of between 5V DC or 10 to 10 V.
Furthermore, the module comes packed with internal module diagnostics, and a removable terminal board that comes in handy during field wiring. These inputs are updated once per CPU sweep.
Power for operation of the module’s logic circuitry comes from the backplane’s 5 VDC bus. For the input and output devices, the power sources are supplied by the user or +24 VDC output.
During installation, it’s recommended that the product is installed in an enclosure with minimal pollution. Wiring connections should be made using Copper wires. If two wires are used, then they must be the same size. During field wiring, the shielded cable should be used for all cables connecting to the high-speed counter and must have a high frequency ground within 6 inches of the IC694APU300 PLC module.
Ensure the power is turned off during installation or replacement of any parts such as batteries, fuses or any other serviceable components to avoid any hazardous incidences.

The IC694APU300 module from GE Fanuc is an industrial high-speed counter module. It is manufactured by GE Fanuc in the RX3i PACSystems series. The IC694APU300 high-speed counter module is designed to handle high-speed pulse signals, and it uses these high-speed pulse signals to flow rate measurement applications, speed control applications, and other dynamic industrial applications. This counter module can safely handle pulse signals that have frequency ratings of up to 1 Megahertz. It can perform complex equations within the space of a fraction of a second. The IC694APU300 high-speed counter module runs on DC power. Its input voltage ratings can be either 5 Volts DC or 10 to 30 Volts DC, and its output voltage ratings can be either 10 to 30 Volts DC with a current rating of 500 milliamps or 4.75 to 6 Volts DC with a current rating of 20 milliamps.
The GE Fanuc RX3i PACSystems IC694APU300 high-speed counter module comes with 4 positive logic outputs and either 12 positive logic inputs that are single-ended or 6 positive logic inputs that are differential. The power consumption rating of the IC694APU300 high-speed counter module is 1.25 Watts or 250 milliamps. Its maximum rated processing speed is 80 kilohertz. This counter module does not need to be connected to a programmable logic controller (PLC) or to the central processing unit (CPU) in the PLC to be able to operate. It can operate independently. There are no DIP switches on the IC694APU300 high-speed counter module. All of its wiring should be done with copper wires.

Changes in APU300 behavior
Description
The redesigned IC693APU300-MA and IC694APU300-CA are supposed to behave identically to previous versions, but parameter validation has been made stricter. On older units, attempting to load the accumulator with a value outside of the high or low limits would result in the accumulator being set to the limit value. The setpoints operate in a similar way. Also, the unit would allow you to change the limits such that the present values of the accumulator and setpoints were outside of the limits. On the new model APU300s, attempting to create any of these circumstances will result in a module fault and an invalid parameter error.

When changing module settings in logic, this is the safest process:
