The IC694BEM320 is an Rx3i I/O Link Interface module, also known as a slave. This module is a high performance, scalable, and modular control system that supports the PACSystem engine. It operate as a slave on the GE I/O Link network. This particular module can exchange wither 32 or 64 inputs and outputs with the master. The possible master types that can be utilized include PACSystems, Series 90-30, and Series 90-70, a GE Series 15, Series 16, or Series 18 CNC, a GE Series0 Model C CNC, and a GE F-D Mate CNC. The choice of master is up to each individual installer. IC694BEM320 can be installed on any available backplane slot in the RX3i or Series 90-30 PLC.

The maximum number of I/O Link Interface Modules depends on the power available from the power supply. To determine the exact number of modules allowed, a manual may be downloaded. Typically, when multiple I/O link interface modules are in the same system, they are on separate links. However, it is possible to have multiple link interfaces connected to the same link if necessary.

The IC694BEM320 is a standard RX3i module and easily plugs into the PLC backplane. Additionally, the module’s front cover can be removed. A jumper plug inside the front cover is used to set up the module. Though the factory default is as a 32 point, 64 point can also be used. The front of the module has two 20-point pin connectors. Signal levels are all RS422/485 compatible.
