IC694DSM314 is a Multi-Axis Motion Controller Module manufactured by GE Facuc for the Rx3i PacSystem series. It combines optimum motion control with logic-solving functions expected from the Rx3i PACSystem. It supports two control loop configurations, including Standard Mode (Follower Control Loop Disabled) and Follower Mode (Follower Control Loop Enabled).
The IC694DSM314 module can be used with GE Fanuc α Series and β Series digital servo amplifiers and motors as well as some others. Module features include velocity feed forward and a position error integrator; high resolution of programming units; simple 1 to 4-axis motion programs; and non-volatile storage, which can be used for up to 10 programs and 40 subroutines. The module comes equipped with a single-point of connect for proper programming and configuration. Flash memory allows firmware storage and updates. IC694DSM314 has electronic CAM capability and a variety of inputs for each axis.
This control module has a 13-bit analog output that can be controlled by the PLC or used as a digital servo tuning monitor. An additional feature is high speed digital output via on-board local logic control (four each 24V and four each 5V). The IC694DSM314’s power supply is 5 VDC from the backplane and 800mA plus encoder supply current. Seven LEDs on the module indicate status. The STAT LED is generally on, which suggests normal operation. If the LED is OFF, the module is not functioning. Status errors are indicated by repeated slow blinking. Rapid blinking, however, suggests errors that will stop operation of the servo. It is important to note that the IC694DSM314 must be connected to the frame ground by way of the terminal located on the bottom of the module.

Differences Between IC693DSM314 and IC694DSM314 Modules
IC693DSM314 and IC694DSM314 modules are functionally identical and can be used interchangeably in a Series 90-30 rack system or a PACSystems RX3i. The only differences are has follows.
The IC693DSM314 module has a black cover, to fit the Series 90-30 color scheme, while the IC694DSM314 has a blue cover, to match the PACSystems RX3i color scheme.
When you configure a PACSystems RX3i rack system in Logic Developer - PLC, you can select IC693DSM314 or IC694DSM314. When you configure a Series 90-30 rack system, you can select only IC693DSM314; even if the rack physically contains an IC694DSM314, selecting IC693DSM314 in Logic Developer - PLC is adequate: configure the IC693DSM314 as if it were an IC694DSM314.
