The definition of Module Status Data for IC694MDL660
Description
In GFK2314D, the description for 16 bit Module Status data of IC694MDL660 is as following:
Bit 1~9 for Internal use
Bit 10 Module I/O Data: 1=ready. 0= not ready
Bit 11 Terminal Block Present: 1=TB not present, 0=TB present
Bit 12~16 not used.
Why is Bit 10 set to 0 and the module works well and is providing the correct input data to CPU.
Resolution
GFK2314D currently specifies the meaning for bit 10 to be “Module I/O Data: 1-ready, 0-not ready”. This is true ONLY for version “A” of the module (IC694MDL660A).
For versions “-AB” and “-BC” (IC694MDL660-AB, IC694MDL660-BC) the meaning of this bit should be “Firmware Update Mode: 1 = module waiting for firmware update".
For more information on the IC694MDL660 32-Point, Positive/Negative Logic, 24 VDC, Input Module of the GE Fanuc RX3i Series, please see the Datasheet User-Manual.
