Product Description

The IC693ALG222 is a 16-Channel Analog Voltage Input module for the GE Fanuc 90-30 Series. This PLC will give you 16 single-ended or 8 differential input channels. The Analog Input features easy-to-use configuration software for 2 input ranges: from -10 to +10 and 0 to 10 volt.  This module converts the analog signals into digital signals. The IC693ALG222 receives two input signals which are unipolar and bipolar. The unipolar signal ranges from 0 to +10 V whereas bipolar signal ranges from -10V to +10V.This module can be set up in any of the I/O slots in a 90-30 Programmable control system. There will be connector block mounted on module for connecting to user devices.

The number of channels in the IC693ALG222 may be single ended (1 to 16 channel) or differential (1 to 8 channel). The power requirement for this module is 112mA from 5V bus, and also it requires 41V from 24V DC supply to power the converters. The two LED indicators indicate the status of user power supply the module’ status. These two LEDs are MODULE OK, which gives the status regarding power-up, and POWER SUPPLY OK, which checks whether the supply is above the minimum required level. The IC693ALG222 module is configured either using logic master programming software or via Handheld programming. If the user chooses to program the module via Handheld programming, he can only edit active channels, not active scanned channels. This module uses the %AI data table to record analog signals for the use of the programmable logic controller.

IC693ALG222 To Be Wired In Both Singled Ended and Differential Mode

Can the IC693ALG222 be wired for both differential and single ended connections?

This module supports only one type of mode. When configuring the module using LM90/Versapro/Machine Edition, the user has to select a mode, single ended or differential, not both. Since you can only choose one mode, you can only have one type of connection. The mode selection is for all channels.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC693ALG222?  Answer:  The IC693ALG222 is a 16-Channel Analog Voltage Input module for the GE Fanuc 90-30 Series. This PLC will give you 16 single-ended or 8 differential input channels. The unit features easy-to-use configuration software for 2 input ranges: from -10 to +10 and 0 to 10 volt.
  • Question:  What is the main power supply for the IC693ALG222?  Answer:  The main power source for this Analog Input comes from the isolated +24 VDC power supplied by the PLC power supply. The configuration for this particular voltage is then routed through an inverter/regulator to produce the operating voltages for the module.
  • Question:  How can I minimize capacitive loading and noise?  Answer:  You should make sure all field connections to the module are wired using a good grade of twisted, shielded instrumentation cable.
  • Question:  Where should the shields be connected to?  Answer:  Normal configuration is to either a COM or GND.
  • Question:  In what type of slot should the IC693ALG222 be installed?  Answer:  The IC693ALG223 Analog Input can be installed in any I/O slot of a 5 or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 PLC system
  • Question:  Can I change the amount of channels or the voltage on this device?  Answer:  Yes, this is either an 8 or 16 channel module.
  • Question:  What is a good way to test this IC693ALG222?  Answer:  You can easily see if the unit is working by probing the channels of this Analog Input in the 90-30 Series with a voltage meter. You will be looking for a positive reading. You should probe the channels in the same way making sure your leads are correct. Your results should be consistent.
  • Question:  How to tell if your IC693ALG222 is faulty.  Answer:  If the OK light is not on, then your product may be in need of repair.
