Product Description

IC693BEM330 is a GE 90-30 Series Bus Controller Module that provides an interface for a broad range of discrete analog GE Intelligent Platforms. This CPU module has to be installed in slot 1 of the series baseplates since slot 1 is a unique size and type that will only support a CPU module or special option module such as this. IC693BEM330 is an FIP Remote I/O Scanner Module that is intelligent and easily interfaces with the Series 90-30 I/O modules connected to a FIP bus. This allows for up to 19 I/O accommodated modules through the use of two 10 slot baseplates that can be connected together through an expansion cable of up to 50 feet with up to 128 devices. When used together, the remote I/O scanner and modules serve as an I/O nest and can include most Series 90-30 I/O modules. Any CPU type can communicate effectively as a host on the FIP bus. A module in the host serves as the needed interface between the bus and the host.

The IC693BEM330 remote I/O scanner has several basic functions. These include the ability to control operation of the I/O nest when in the appropriately selected mode and discrete scanning capability.  This includes the maintenance of I/O scan timing with mapping of I/O data to the FIP application variables. Another feature is the ability to recognize both system and module faults while reporting them to the FIP network while retaining the network configuration even with loss of power. Additionally, the IC693BEM330 permits for a standalone configuration when using a handheld programmer.
