The IC693CBL303 is an HHP and Converter cable of GE Fanuc series 90-30 PLCs. It is 6 feet long and connects the Hand-Held Programmer with the Programmable Logic Controller. It has a 15-pin male D-Subminiature and Type Canon DA15 connector on each end. The cable type is Belden 8508, and it comes with connector shells, metric screws, and screw clips. To use the IC693CBL303 HHP and Converter Cable, connect the 15-pin D connector to the serial port of the PLC. The other end attaches to the mating connector at the bottom of the HPP. The cable will provide power supply and send a signal to the PLC when an HPP is connected.

It possible to create a custom cable apart from the GE Fanuc IC693CBL303 HHP and Converter Cable series 90-30. If this is the case, it can be up to 300 feet long and will need a separate power supply. The desired type of cable for custom cable is the Belden 9309 type cable, and an external power supply of +5 VDC is needed. Pins 9 and 10 of the 15-pin connector must be jumpered. The +5V and SG connections of the PLC power supply must be detached from power line ground connection. The +5V pin of the cable connector must not connect to the PLC. Another use of the GE Fanuc C693CBL303 HHP and Converter Cable is to connect the PLC to an RS-232 converter. The PLC can connect to programmers with RS-422 serial ports or PC-compatible computers.
