Product Description

The GE Fanuc IC693MDL731 is a 12/24 volt DC Negative Logic 2 Amp Output module. Part of the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller system, this module is equipped with 8 output points. These points share a single power output terminal. As the IC693MDL731 sinks current from the loads to the user common or negative power bus, the module has negative logic characteristics. Its output characteristics enable pairing with certain load devices that the user supplies. For example, it is possible to operate this module with various types of solenoids and motor starters as well as indicators. To do so, these devices need to be hooked up between the module’s output and the positive power bus. The user can then provide an external power supply to operate the devices.

Like many similar units in the 90-30 family, the IC693MDL731 has an LED block. There are 16 indicators, arranged in two separate rows – A1 and B1. Each has 8 LEDs but this module only uses A1 as it only has 8 output points. A blow fuse indicator LED is also present. This glows red whenever any fuse in the module is blown. There are two fuses in the unit, each of them a 5 amp fuse. One protects outputs A1 to A4 while the other fuse protects A5 to A8.  These fuses are connected electrically to a single shared common. The user may install this 2 Amp Output module the baseplate of a Series 90-30 system. There is a blue-colored strip on the end of the insert close to the door of the IC693MDL731. This indicates that the unit is low-voltage.
