Product Description

The GE Fanuc IC693MDL940 is a relay output module. Uses of this module are to control load devices like indicators, solenoids and motor starters. This module requires a switching capacity of 2A and requires a 24V DC power supply. The power supply is located on its backplane and supplies power to the module through the bus.   When the IC693MDL940 involves suppression circuits, the contact life of the relay approaches the contact life of the resistive loads while switching into inductive loads. The DC and AC loads use different circuits from each other. The DC load uses the suppression circuit containing 200V diode of 1A current capacity. The suppression circuit of the AC load uses the standard components which are capacitors and resistors.

The IC693MDL940 operates in the voltage range of 5V to 30V DC supply. At the frequency range of 50Hz to 60Hz, it operates in the voltage range of 5V to 250V. Also, the module uses 16 output points in four groups containing four output points in each group. This module encounters the maximum load of 2A per output and 4A per common. The minimum load encountered is 10mA. The top of the module IC693MDL940 hosts a LED indicator which indicates the status of output points. The inside surface of the module provides the wiring information of the circuit.  Either of the DC or AC power supply operate the field devices. This module does not use the fuses. The response time for switching on/off is 15msec. In 90-30 series PLC system, the user can also use the IC693MDL940 in any of the slots of the baseplate.

The IC693MDL940 module is an GE Fanuc manufactured relay output module. It is a 16-point output module variant with a voltage rating of 120/240 Volts AC. It is a Series 90-30 module that is used for controlling output loads. It has an output switching capacity of 2 Amps of relay current. There are 4 groups of 4 output points each. Each of these 4 groups has a common power output terminal. This industrial relay unit controls a wide variety of load devices including solenoids, indicators, and motor starters. The IC693MDL940 module is able to handle 15 bits of output data from the host controller CPU. It can be configured BY using the Proficy Machine Edition configuration software. The relay circuit is powered through the backplane with a 24 Volts DC source. 


The IC693MDL940 module is compact in size and it has a small footprint. This output module has an open enclosure and should be used for indoor applications only. The maximum operating temperature should not exceed 60 degrees Celsius for regular operation. The IC693MDL940 module comes with 1500 Volts of isolation between the field side and the logic side, and 500 Volts of isolation between groups. The relay output module can take a maximum load of 4 Amps maximum current per common. The minimum total load current is 10 Amps and the maximum inrush current is 5 Amps. The on and off response time of the module is 15 milliseconds. The initial power consumption rating of the module is 7 milliamps with 5 Volts DC voltage from the bus on the backplane, and it is 135 milliamps with 24 Volts DC voltage from the bus on the backplane.

The 2 Amp Relay Output module IC693MDL940 for the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller provides 16 normally-open relay circuits for controlling output loads provided by the user.
