The IC697MDL652 is a 12 VDC 32-Point Positive/Negative Logic Input Module manufactured by the GE Fanuc for Series 90-70.
The 32 input points are organized in four remote groups of eight points each and are directly controlled by this module.

Highlighted features include 32 points, positive/negative logic compatibility, a compatible proximity switch, a selectable input filter (1 mS or 10 mS), and a single input configured as an interrupt. These features are present in all IC697 PLCs. However, when the IC697MDL652 is coupled with other types of PLCs, availability of these features may vary.  IC697MDL652 has LED indicators located on its faceplate. The major purpose of these indicators is to let the user know the on/off status of each point on the logic (PLC) side of the circuit. I/O locations can be configured without the use of DIP switches or jumpers. Configuration is carried out by the configuration function of MS-DOS through any one of the following: programming software on Windows 95, Windows NT over Ethernet TCP/IP, or through the SNP port.

The IC697MDL652 can source current from the input device to the user common due to the fact that it is designed to have both positive and negative logic characteristics. Other input devices compatible with the IC697MDL652 include pushbuttons, limit switches, selector switches, and 2-wire and 3-wire electronic proximity switches. Inputs on this module are directly driven by any IC697 programmable controller voltage compatible output module. The input circuit arranges for the necessary current that guarantees reliable operation of the switching device. In the ON state, the input current is 10mA. In the OFF state, it accepts up to 2 mA leakage current without turning on.
