The IC697MEM719 is a 512 KB CMOS Expansion Memory produced by GE Fanuc for the Series 90-70.
This memory is used to expand logic and data memory in   IC697CPU771/2 Central Processing Units or the Programmable Co-Processor Module (PCM) catalogued IC697PCM711. 
The IC697MEM719 has a number of notable features including its availability in four versions (64, 128, 256, and 512 Kbytes), its ability to be configured for both data and program storage, and the fact that it does not require any extra slot. Configured as a daughter board, IC697MEM719 is strategically placed in the same slot as the module in which it operates. It is important to note that the memory of the baseboard and that of the daughter board supplement each other. 

The IC697MEM719 has a lithium battery that retains user memory in case of power failure. The battery also takes care of the calendar clock. Battery shelf life is 10 years in appropriate conditions, and its operating temperature range should be around 20 0C or 68 0F. The ideal memory retention capacity of the battery without applied power is six months. The old battery should only be removed after complete installation of a new battery. The PLC CPU  repeatedly error checks the logic program memory as a background task by way of checksum routine. Storage memory, on the other hand, is error checked by the PCM when power is cycled and on hard/soft system resets. The IC697MEM719 uses MS-DOS or Windows programming as software for configuration. This memory expansion requires no tools and can be easily installed in the field.
