IC200BEM003 is a PLC Network Communications PROFIBUS-DP (Master) Module from the GE Fanuc Versamax Series.
This network style master module allows a Versamax CPU005, ProfitNet Scanner, or CPUE05 to receive and send data on a Profibus-DP network. This specific master module features numerous Profibus communication options with support for all standard data rates and sync/freeze modes. With a maximum support of 3,584 bytes of input or output data, the IC200BEM003 supports DP-V1 read, write, and alarm messages with ease. Any necessary firmware updates are received indirectly from the host controller using the WinLoader software utility.

When installing the master module in hazardous areas, make sure to heed all warnings for the given atmosphere, including turning off the power source. Install the module by clicking the communications carrier on the DIN rail, typically on the same section of 35 mm x 7.5 mm DIN rail with conductive, non-painted surface for proper grounding. Install the module on the communications carrier with the latch in the unlock position. Align the connector, latch the post, and press down until the unit clicks into place on both tabs. Once in place, the latch should be moved to the locked position for security.

The user should note that Profibus utilizes a linear bus architecture that requires active bus termination at both ends for proper functionality. Devices in this network connect directly to the bus cable or via sub lines depending on user needs. Once the IC200BEM003 starts, LED indicator lights help show proper functioning.
