Product Description

IC200BEM104 is an AS-I Network Master Module from the GE Fanuc Versamax Series.
This particular module can interface with the Versamax PLC CPU or Station NIU to offer input and output data exchange with slave devices. This unit conforms to AS-I specifications for the master AS-I protocol. The AS-I network master allows the VersaMax PLC or the I/O station to trade data with up to 31 slave addresses on the given network. This offers great versatility for users. The AS-I can be located on the main rack or can be placed in any expansion rack for either single or multiple rack systems. However, if used in a CPU system, sweep time impact depends on where it is located on the chosen rack. Faster response times can be expected if the module is placed on the main rack.

In a VersaMax PLC system, the application program in the CPU will process slave input data and provide output slave data, but in the VersaMax I/O Station, the NIU module does not directly process AS-interface data. Instead, the NIU is a communications module that exchanges data with the host device and the host processes AS-I data. This is an important differentiation for the user to be made aware of upon installation.

The IC200BEM104 module mounts on the communications carrier but only after the carrier is installed on the DIN rail. This is accomplished by snapping the carrier into the correct slot until the connectors engage. Make sure the power source has been cut off prior to installing or removing the carrier or network master module. To place the master module, make sure the latch is unlocked, align the module, and press down. Turn the latch to the lock position to complete installation. The new module is now ready for configuration.
