IC200MDL631 is a discrete input module manufactured by GE Fanuc for the Versamax series. The IC200MDL631 provides eight discrete remote inputs, which can be either positive logic inputs or negative-logic inputs. These inputs receive current from the return and return current to the input device. They are connected between the return terminal and input terminals.
This module receives power for its operation from the backplane. The CPU or NIU carries out all the intelligent processes. Individual green LEDs indicate the on/off state of each input point. The OK LED emits green when backplane power is available in the module.
It is important to know that derating is not required for the 8-point modules in any orientation. Derating is also not necessary for the 16-point modules at 125 Volts direct current. In case of those16-point modules that operate a 150 Volts DC, the number of points that can be on at the same time is dependent on a number of factors, including ambient temperature, external voltage, and the orientation of the module and DIN rail.
The IC200MDL631 provides parity bits to bytes of data created by citizen input-output components. It also transfers parity tads generated by input output components. The basic input on/off response time for this module is 0.5 ms. However, some applications require additional filtering to compensate for conditions such as noise spikes or switch bounce.
