Product Description

The IC200MDL650 is an input module made by GE Fanuc as part of the VersaMax series of PLC components.
This module has a total of 32 input points, all of which are discrete. These input points are divided into four groupings of eight. Each input point on this device can support either positive logic or negative logic. Positive logic means that the current is taken from the attached input devices and returned on the common line. Negative logic means that the current is received from the common line and returned to the connected input devices. To support negative logic, this module must be upgraded to the IC200MDL650C version or better.

The main source of power for this device is the rack-mounted connection backplane to which this module is attached. No external power supply is necessary with this product. The input point voltage for this device ranges from 0 to 30 volts direct current with 24 volts being nominal. The maximum amount of current this device consumes from the 5V backplane is 50 milliamps. Input point impedance is rated at a maximum of 10k Ohms.

The IC200MDL650 does support thermal derating; however, thermal derating is not required when this device is operating at 24 volts direct current. When operating at 30 volts direct current, the number of active input points varies depending on certain factors.

The default input response time is 0.5 milliseconds, but this response time can be changed via configurable filters. This module is 2.63 inches tall (66.8mm), 1.956 inches deep (50mm), and 4.3 inches wide (110mm).

The IC200MDL650 Input Module is a Versamax series discrete input module designed by GE Fanuc. It belongs to the Versamax family of I/O products. Its 32 discrete inputs are divided into 4 equal groups. The inputs of the module can be configured as positive logic inputs or negative logic inputs to receive current from input devices and to return current to the input devices. The IC200MDL650 Input Module comes with the facilities to interface input devices between the common terminals and the input terminals. It also offers 32 bits of discrete input data. The backplane current consumption rating of the module is 50 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. It does not have point to point isolation.      


The IC200MDL650 Discrete Input Module uses backplane power for operation. It has 2 green indicator LEDs. Its thermal derating depends on the ambient temperature, the external voltage, and the orientation of the module. The input voltage range of the module is 0 to 30 Volts DC and the nominal input voltage rating is 24 Volts DC. It comes with an input impedance of 10k Ohms. The CPU or NIU in the system has the responsibility to perform the intelligent processing of the IC200MDL650 module. It has a basic input on/off response time of 0.5 milliseconds. Some of the characteristics of the inputs are 15 to 30 Volts of rated on-state voltage, 2 to 5.5 milliamps of rated on-state current, and a maximum response time of 0.5 milliseconds. The selectable input filter times of the module are 0 ms, 1 ms, and 7 ms. Its input filter time can be selected by using CPU software configuration.
